Precision Moving Company has a 2 hour minimum for moving and packing services.
After 2 hours, we bill in 15 minute increments.
Our billing begins when we leave our warehouse at 495 Columbia Street Somerville MA (on the Somerville/ Cambridge line) and continues until we return.
We require a $100 deposit to book a move. This deposit is refundable up to 6 days before the move. The deposit is transferrable to another day up to 48 hours before the move.
Large appliances (refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, freezers and stoves) carry a fee of $10 each.
Hoisting a piece of furniture through a window or over a porch carries a fee of $60 for the first hoist and $30 for each additional hoist as needed. Hoisting is only executed in a safe situation, as deemed by the crew chief on the job. Hoisting a box spring for a bed is $30.
Pianos carry a fee of $75 for a spinet, $100 for an upright, $125 for a baby grand and $150 for a grand. Each flight of stairs for a piano carry is $25.
Parking permits for Boston and Brookline are available through Precision at a rate of $100 per location. Parking meters are an additional $20 per meter. Cambridge parking permits are $50 per location. Somerville parking permits are $75 per location. Parking permits are recommended for any address where parking the truck close to the access door would be otherwise difficult. Parking permits are required for Beacon Hill, the North End, many streets in the South End and other areas in Boston. It is possible to obtain parking permits yourself at Boston City Hall, with a letter from Precision Moving Company authorizing you to use the bond we hold with the city. The parking signs for the moving truck must be posted 48 hours in advance, allowing 50 feet of parking for one truck. Please hang the signs in a way that the rear end of the moving truck (with room for a 15 foot ramp) will be positioned close to the access door to your residence.
Tolls are paid by the customer, as necessary.
